Email Pointer Pedigree Requesting

An email pedigree request facility for the Pointer is now available. Instructions for its use follow.

To request a pedigree (currently fixed at 4 generations in length) send an email message to zellers@fit.qut.edu.au with the subject of the message containing

Send Pedigree "dog name"

replacing dog name with the registered name of the dog you want the pedigree for.

It is important to include the Quotation marks " " for the request to work properly. In (hopefully) a few minutes you will recieve a four generation pedigree for the Pointer you requested. If you entered the name incorrectly, or the dog does not exist in the database, a list of dogs that match closest to the requested dog is returned, for you to check for a possible error.

Also a list facility is available, that will return a list of the dogs containing a requested string.

to return a list of all dogs that contain quail in their name send a message to zellers@fit.qut.edu.au with the subject as follows

Send doglist "quail"

To send a list of all dogs replace "quail" with ""

Without their help this database wouldn't encompass as many different dogs as it currrently does.

Database last updated Oct 10 1996 - Currently there are approx. 10000 dogs entered encompassing Pointers from Australia, New Zealand, North America and England and a very few Continental (e.g. Danish, Norwegian, Swedish, German and French) dogs.
